The British star calls the honour a "dream come true" as the boy band congratulate the singer.
Ed Sheeran has revealed it's a "dream come true" to receive a nomination at the Grammy Awards 2013 for his hit single 'The A Team'.
The 'Lego House' star was named among the nominees for next year's event during a ceremony in Los Angeles last night (5th December).
Taking to Twitter, the singer admitted he was "ecstatic" at the accolade and recalled is memories of writing the track.
He tweeted: "A team. A song I wrote with no home, no money, anything, nominated or best record at the Grammys. A dream come true. Ecstatic xxx"
Ed was partying with The Wanted at the time of hearing the news, and the band were quick to congratulate their friend on his nomination.
"Wow!! Congrats to our mate @EdSheeran on his Grammy nomination!! So amazing we can share this moment with you," they wrote on Twitter.

The band also shared some pictures of themselves with the singer as they celebrated his success.
US stars Fun. were among the most nominated acts at the Awards, scooping a total of six nominations – including Best Album for 'Some Nights'.
