The 'Lego House' star tells Capital he will be heading across the pond after today's performance.

Ed Sheeran has confessed that he will have no time to party after his set at Capital's Summertime Ball because he is heading straight to the US to promote the release of his debut album '+'.

The 'Lego House' singer told Capital that it will be "fun" as he performs shows in America – the last country where his record will be released.

"I can't party hard tonight – I'm going to America tomorrow – the album comes out next week in the US and Canada and it's a hectic week," he explained.

The star performed on stage in front of 80,000 fans backed with just his acoustic guitar and had the crowd in high spirits performing his singles 'Drunk', 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' and new release 'Small Bump'.

Other stars on the bill included Example, Jessie J and Usher as British stars Coldplay opened the event.
