The 'Give Me Love' singer has also had a copy of a famous Matisse sketch inked onto his forearm.
Ed Sheeran has been pictured out in New York showing off several brand new tattoos across his arm.
The 'Small Bump' singer is over in the US promoting his music ahead of performing at next month's Grammy Awards 2013, and was spotted with several new inkings added to his growing collection.
Ed was pictured arriving at a US radio station showing off his multicoloured tattoo sleeve on his left arm as well two new additions on his right arm.
The two new tattoos include a copy of French painter Matisse's famous sketch of a mother cradling her baby, as well as a dramatic rendition of a phoenix rising from the flames.
"Ed's keeping his new tattoos under wraps and hasn't really been showing them off as they're quite dramatic," a source told The Sun this week. "He fell in love with the Matisse image because he found it comforting.
"And he loves the myth of the phoenix rising from the flames as it gives him hope when he looks at it."

The 'Lego House' singer has since revealed it was Elton's idea for the two to perform one of his songs at the upcoming event, which takes place on 10th February.
