'The A Team' star is hopeful that he can secure a place on this year's BRITs shortlist.

Ed Sheeran has said it would feel "fantastic" to receive a nomination for this year's BRIT Awards in London.

The 'Lego House' star is one of the favourites to be shortlisted for an award when the nominations are announced later today (12th January).

But Ed told Capital FM that he wasn't expecting to be recognised, although he would be flattered if he scooped a nomination.

"I think I'd feel great if I had a nomination. I wasn't really expecting one this year," he said.

"I went to the BRITs last February and I remember Tinie Tempah winning all his awards, and I'd just signed the week before.

"If I don't get nomination this year it won't be a big loss because I'll hold out for the next year, but it would be amazing to be nominated."

Keep it Capital to find out all the nominations when they are revealed at 6pm tonight.

The ceremony for this year's BRIT Awards will take place at London's O2 Arena on 21st February.
