Drake's 'Take Care' Nominated For Polaris Music Prize 2012

The rapper has been named on the shortlist for this year's prestigious Canadian award.

Drake has been nominated as one of the finalists in line to scoop this year's Polaris Music Prize for his recent album 'Take Care'.

The 'Moment 4 Life' star has been named on a shortlist which includes the likes of Feist, Grimes and Kathleen Edwards.

The winner of the prize will claim £19,000 and be announced at a ceremony on 24th September.

Previous winners of the award include Patrick Watson and last year's victors Arcade Fire who won for their record 'The Suburbs'.

The jury for the prize is made up of around 200 professionals within the music business including journalists and radio programmers.

Meanwhile, Drake is rumoured to be heading on a romantic cruise with Rihanna – who has been pictured this week sailing around the Mediterranean aboard a luxury yacht.

Drake was also involved in a late night altercation with Chris Brown earlier this year, which resulted in several members of the public sustaining injuries.
