Dappy: "I'm The New Bear Grylls" - Video

28 February 2012, 10:25

'Rockstar' rapper speaks to Capital FM about his interests in fishing.

Dappy has once again compared himself to the explorer Bear Grylls.

In an interview with Capital FM, the N-Dubz star, who has a well documented love of fishing, said he had picked up his interests in nature from his father.

"I'm the new Bear Grylls. My pops was born in Eygpt and he's got this thing about man against nature – spears, wild boar, fishing," Dappy said.

"He came over to this country and he tried to get a pigeon the first day as a pet."

The 'Rockstar' rapper continued: "Since that day, he told me: 'I'm going to take you fishing when you're older.'

"He took me fishing and I've got that vibe. I've got that whole thing, I've got that in me man. Put me anywhere and I'll get out alive. I love fishing; I'm a water baby. I love paintballing and outdoor activities"

Dappy added that "fishing is something that will always stay with me, I love it to death. Catching a big massive carp, who would have thought that's exciting?"

Meanwhile, Dappy is currently promoting his new single 'Rockstar', which features Queen guitarist Brian May.

The track is the second single to be taken from his forthcoming debut solo album.
