The explorer responds to the N-Dubz star's claim that he's the "new Bear Grylls".

Bear Grylls has responded to Dappy after the N-Dubz star described himself as "the new Bear Grylls".

Dappy, who has a well-documented love of nature and particularly fishing, compared himself to the television explorer during an interview with Capital FM last week.

"I'm the new Bear Grylls. My pops was born in Egypt and he's got this thing about man against nature – spears, wild boar, fishing," Dappy said.

Now Bear has responded to the 'Rockstar' rapper's comments and hinted in an interview with Capital FM that he could film an edition of his TV show Wild Weekends with Dappy.

"Good on him, brilliant. I'm all about encouraging people to get out there and enjoy the outdoors," he said.

"Whether it's Dappy or it's a ten year old kid from Liverpool or whatever. Go for it, life is there for the taking, adventures are there to be lived boldy."

When asked if Dappy could join Bear on a future edition of his hit TV show, the explorer reacted positively, adding: "Well, that's great. Let's put it in the mix."

Dappy recently released his new single 'Rockstar', which is taken from his as-yet-untitled forthcoming debut solo album.
