The 'Paradise' singer reveals that he's a big fan of pop music.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has confessed that he has always been a fan of pop music.

The 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' singer admitted that Coldplay's recent album 'Mylo Xyloto' truly reflects what the band been listening to.

Speaking to The Sun, Chris said: "I've always listened to pop. And I've been hanging out with Jay-Z for a lot more albums than this one."

The singer also explained that the band's producers were keen for them to make an album which reflected their influences.

"They said it had to be a passionate album and reflect what we listen to. It didn't have to fit the indie or pop box. It just had to be true. So Mylo reflects that we do listen to a lot of Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Jay-Z as much as we listen to Arcade Fire and Nick Drake," he revealed.

Chris also admitted that the rumoured duet between Coldplay and Rihanna at next year's BRIT Awards is not confirmed yet.

"It's been discussed but no one has said 'yes' or 'no' yet as we need to look at diaries etc," he said.

Meanwhile, the band recently recruited a group of topless girls to perform in their music video for new single 'Charlie Brown'.
