Coldplay Win Best British Group At BRIT Awards 2012

The 'Charlie Brown' band have picked up their seventh BRIT Award tonight at the O2 Arena.

Coldplay have picked up with award for Best British Group at the BRIT Awards 2012 tonight (21st February).

The 'Paradise' singers took to the O2 Arena stage in London where they were named winners over Arctic Monkeys, Elbow, Chase & Status and Kasabian.

"We're so happy to get this award and thank you to everyone who listens to us – we're having a great time," frontman Chris Martin said while accepting the group's seventh BRIT Award.

Coldplay also performed earlier in the evening when they opened this year's BRITs with a rendition of their single 'Charlie Brown', while Chris Martin also sang a duet with Noel Gallagher on stage.

The BRIT Awards 2012 continues tonight and will still see performances from this year's Outstanding Contribution to Music recipients Blur.
