The 'Don't Wake Me Up' singer deactivated his account following the attack on the social networking site.

Chris Brown has quit Twitter following a heated exchange between himself and a comedy writer - who questioned his relationship with former girlfriend Rihanna.

The 'Turn Up The Music' star was attacked on his social networking account by Jenny Johnson last night (25th November) after he made a comment on his age and how old he was starting to look.

She wrote: "I know! Being a worthless piece of s*** can really age a person."

After several back and forth quips between the two, the R&B singer brought up the Bajan star as Jenny spoke of an incident during a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009.

"Just ask Rihanna if she mad??????" he added.

Chris and Rihanna have been seen together on several occasions during the past couple of months having rekindled their friendship.

At the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 in September, they also shared their first public embrace in three years.

The 'With You' singer also broke up with his girlfriend Karrueche Tran after revealing he was in love with two women.

Before deactivating his account, Chris told his fans that he wasn't upset but simply enjoyed "entertaining the ignorance".

Chris and Rihanna also recently teamed up for new song 'Nobody's Business', which features on her latest album 'Unapologetic'.
