The 'Promise This' singer is said to be unwell and may not be able to perform in Manchester this week.

Cheryl Cole's highly anticipated duet with Take That's Gary Barlow for this week's Children In Need concert is said to be in jeopardy because of illness.

The 'Parachutes' singer is said to have fallen ill with a throat problem, making it unclear whether she will be able to perform alongside The X Factor judge at the Manchester MEN charity concert on Thursday (17th November).

"She's ill. We're waiting to hear," Gary told The Mirror yesterday. "It's meant to be a surprise but that's the plan – if not, I don't know what we're going to do.

"I might just have to get on the piano and do a bit of Roll Out The Barrel."

Gary also revealed that he is excited about getting back on stage after spending much of 2011 watching performances as head judge on The X Factor.

He added: "I'm looking forward to it I really am."

The Children In Need Rocks concert is scheduled to feature performances from Barlow as well as Coldplay and Lady Gaga.

Cheryl recently insisted reports of tension between herself and new X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos were completely false and that the N-Dubz singer is "lovely".

This year's Children In Need charity single, a cover of 'Teardrop' by several artists including Tulisa Contostavlos, Labrinty and Ed Sheeran, was officially released on Sunday (13th November)
