Cheryl Cole 'didn't want to take a step backwards'

Cheryl Cole refused to rejoin the UK version of the X Factor because she 'didn't want to take a step backwards'.

According to judge Louis Walsh, the Geordie star didn't want to return to the show following her exit from the US version of the talent show.

The singer was offered £2.5 million to come back according to Simon Cowell but it was turned down by her manager Will.i.am.

'She didn't take up the offer to come back to the UK panel because she probably didn't want to go backwards,' Walsh told The Daily Mail.

Cheryl was apparently dropped from the US version of the show and replaced by Nicole Scherzinger because of her Geordie accent.

She is yet to officially speak in public about her exit from the show.
