"Cheryl will be US X-Factor judge"

L.A. Reid, the music mogul who has already got his seat on the US X-Factor judging panel says Chezza will be joining him.

According to The Mirror, when speaking about The X Factor USA, Reid revealed: "We’re gonna compete against American Idol just fine. I’m very confident. But along with Simon Cowell and Cheryl, I don’t know who the other judge is."

For months now there has been speculation as to whether the Geordie star would be part of the show or whether her accent and lack of star-status in the States would count against her.

If Cheryl's position is confirmed it would leave the likes of Nicki Minaj, Paula Abdul and Jessica Simpson to fight for the last place.

Back in the UK, Lily Allen has dismissed rumours linking her with a judging role. Gary Barlow is also being tipped to fill one of the hotseats.
