Watch the 127 Hours star tackle the current Vodafone Big Top 40 number one.

James Franco has covered Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe'.

The Hollywood actor posted the video of him lip-syncing over the track's lyrics on his official website.

The latest in a string of comical private videos from the 127 Hours star, shows James singing along while an unknown female friend accompanies him.

James' rendition of the track has emerged on the same day that a video of Katy Perry covering 'Call Me Maybe' also appeared online. The 'Teenage Dream' star's video shows her performing the track with friends by a swimming pool.

It is the third time in as many weeks that James has lip-synced over a big chart hit - his previous covers were Selena Gomez's 'Love You Like A Love Song' and 'You Da One' by Rihanna.

Meanwhile, Carly is currently promoting her Vodafone Big Top 40 number one single in the UK.

The track is spending its second week at the top spot after holding off a challenge from Justin Bieber and Conor Maynard.
