B.o.B "I'd give a Grammy to Hayley"
By showbiz reporter Kevin Hughes
B.o.B celebrated his 22nd birthday in London, Monday night, after performing on stage at the O2 as support to Paramore.
It was the first time that the "Nothin on you" star has celebrated his birthday outside of the USA. B.o.B told Capital "I'm feeling good, I'm just taking it easy. Man, I just want to slow down the ageing process but I got to celebrate with my tour family and my sister, as it’s also her birthday so it’s all good. I don’t really want much; I just want some fresh pressed apple juice..!” So has the star achieved everything he wanted in the past year? "Yes and much more. I’ve checked off boxes that weren’t even on the list. It’s been incredible. But it would dope to have my new album released by the time I’m 23. I have a lot of song ideas right now but it’s finding time to record them all."
B.o.B aka Bobby Ray, was yet again joined on stage by Hayley Williams, from Paramore for the anthemic “Airplanes” at Monday’s 02 show. Speaking to Capital last week at the MTV EMAs, Hayley told us that B.o.B is “one of the sweetest, most creative gentlemen I’ve ever met.” So what does Bob think about Hayley? “I’d the same thing about but replace the word gentleman with lady ha!” So what about a second collaboration between the pair? It seems there might be something in the pipeline? “You know I think we will, but you know, that’s all I’ll say."
And B.o.B’s admiration for Hayley doesn’t stop there. Next week, he’ll perform at the prestigious Grammy Award nominations launch on December 1st which means he’s bound to be nominated for more than one trophy? But who would B.o.B like to see win a Grammy? “I’ll give one to Hayley, for sure.”
He also revealed that after recording with the likes of Eminem, Bruno Mars and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo on new single “Magic,” he’s going to have to come up something special to improve on that list. “Man, I’m going to have record with ghosts as that list was incredible man. The chemistry is important, with every feature I do. My producer Dr Luke hooked me up with Rivers for the new track and I had to inject my style into the song. We didn’t want to do the easy ABC thing and I’m really learning about the music that people want to hear and the way that audiences respond to it both over here in the UK and the USA. It’s actually all about rhythm- you guys like things faster over here for sure.”
B.o.B’s new single Magic is out now.
