Black Eyed Peas promise clean 'Bowl

Black Eyed Peas are promising to be on their best behaviour when they play during half-time at next month's (Feb) Superbowl.

Speaking to Rap-Up, Apl.de.ap said: “We thought Oprah was big, but to perform at the Super Bowl where a lot of the greats have performed, I’m getting nervous this time around. It’s a great opportunity because usually, the Super Bowl, they pick rock legends and stuff, so this time around you get a little different taste of different music genres.”

Adding: "It’s just going to be Peas. Lots of energy and a lot of our songs you always hear at the sporting events. So at least in that way, we can tell what kind of music they like,"

Will.i.am said, "It’s like when I get around my mom, all my cuss words are deleted from my vocabulary. Automatically, they just leave. Super Bowl, yes, the words are not going to exist in my vocabulary."

Last year more than 153 million people watched the game.

Christina Aguilera will perform the national anthem before kick off, "I have been performing the anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true," Aguilera said in a statement. "I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event."

In the past the honour has gone to Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Aguilera's "Burlesque" co-star Cher, who did it in 1999.

The match between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers takes places in Dallas on Sunday February 6th.
