The US President reveals that he's been giving the rapper parenting advice as he speaks of friendship with the couple.

Barack Obama has revealed that he has instructed Jay-Z to make sure he is pulling his weight with parenting duties to ensure Beyonce isn't left doing it all.

The US President is close friends with the showbiz couple and is pleased to have such a good relationship with the musicians.

"I've gotten to know these guys over the first several years. They're good people," he told US station Z107.9. "Beyonce could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they're good friends."

The American leader admitted he talks to Jay and Bey about the same things he would with any of his friends, and keeps an eye out for the couple's daughter Blue Ivy.

"We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends," he continued. "I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyonce out [with the baby], and not leaving it all with Beyonce and the mother-in-law."

The 'Crazy In Love' pair held a special fundraiser for Obama last month, raising $4 million for his re-election campaign.

During the event, the President called Beyonce the perfect role model for his two children and thanked the Destiny's Child singer and her husband for their friendship.

Meanwhile, Obama has received a host of celebrity support recently, including Lady Gaga who compared his performance at the final Presidential debate to fictional movie boxer Rocky Balboa.
