Amelia Lily Says She Wants To Emulate One Direction's Success In The US – Audio

12 September 2012, 07:41

The former X Factor star admits she is hoping to make the journey across the pond and could easily live in LA.

Amelia Lily has said that shooting the music video to her debut single 'You Bring Me Joy' has inspired her to think about moving to the US.

The X Factor finalist added that watching One Direction's success in America has made her think that she could do the same some day and is hoping to take her music across the pond.

"When I went to LA for the music video, I just looked around and I kept thinking in my head that I can see myself out here," she told Capital FM. "Not even just music wise, like living wise as well."

She continued: "The UK will always be my home but I would like to eventually go out there because I just think its so inspiring out there."

"It really makes you want to go further and more determined but I'd love to go to America one day with my music and stuff."

The singer admitted the fact One Direction also finished third on their respective year for the X Factor has her hoping of similar future success.

"It's amazing watching One Direction because they went through the same journey as me – they came third [on the X Factor] and now they're playing at Madison Square Garden," she added. "That's my dream. So maybe one day, fingers crossed."
