But Alexandra Burke isn't most people. Returning three years later and sounding better than ever, she went on to not only reach the live shows but win the entire competition, beating off stiff competition from boyband, JLS and sixteen year old, Eoghan Quigg.

Her first ever single release is a cover of the Leonard Cohen-penned classic, 'Hallelujah', the most famous version of which was released by Jeff Buckley in 1994. Set to be this year's Christmas No.1, it looks set to be the first of many hit singles for this talented young Londoner.

    Alexandra has a breath-taking voice, but she's a bit too much like Leona, JLS should have won because they were new, good and we need a new, decent boy band!
