The 'Elephant' singer tells Capital FM that she is pleased the industry is honouring someone who made it what it is today.
Alexandra Burke has confessed that she is pleased the BRIT Awards 2012 had a special section dedicated to the late singer Whitney Houston.
The 'Bad Boys' star spoke to Capital FM on the red carpet of last night's event at London's O2 Arena to say how much of a tragedy it was to lose the 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' star.
"I think it's great to give back to those who made this industry what it is today – Whitney was one of those people. It's such a tragedy to have lost her so young and so soon and so unexpectedly," she confessed.
Whitney passed away earlier this month at her hotel room in Los Angeles on the eve of the Grammy Awards and the BRITs dedicated tribute time to the star as well as Amy Winehouse.
