Producers are hoping that the '21' star will make her live comeback at next month's ceremony.
Adele is hoping to attend the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles next month, according to reports.
Producers are also said to be keen for the '21' star to perform at the event, where she is nominated for six awards.
Adele has not performed live since she underwent throat surgery at the end of last year to rectify a problem with her vocal chords.
"Adele will be at the Grammys in Los Angeles on February 12 at the Staples Center," a source told Radar Online. "She's thrilled to be nominated, but it's been a hard time for her because of the surgery.
"She has begun talking more, with her doctor's permission."
The source added: "Producers of the Grammys would love to have Adele perform, and open the show, but she isn't able to give them an answer yet."
Adele will apparently decide at the start of February whether her voice will be fit enough for her to perform at the ceremony.
