The 'Someone Like You' singer added an Academy Award to her list of prizes in Hollywood last night.
The 'Rolling In The Deep' singer picked up the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the event in Hollywood, and the 'Candle In The Wind' singer said she is everything an entertainer should be.
"She's authentic," he explained to reporters on the red carpet of his annual Aids fundraiser party. "She doesn't lip-synch, she comes on and she sings, she's the real deal."
The British star added: "She's not slick, she's human, she's imperfect, she's what every entertainer should be."
Elton was also full of praise for Scottish star Emeli Sande and revealed he thinks the singer is going to be huge in the US in 2013.
The 'Next To Me' singer was the musical guest performer at his post-Oscars party.
