The artists are ready to descend upon London's O2 Arena for this year's BRITs.
Adele is set to make her live UK return this evening (21st February) as she takes to the stage at the BRIT Awards 2012. The 'Rolling In The Deep' singer is fresh of her triumph at the Grammy Awards and will return to the event where last year she gave one of the most emotional live performances of all time with 'Someone Like You'. The rendition catapulted her into dizzying heights of success and fans are eagerly anticipating what she has in store for 2012.
The biggest night in UK music takes place at London's O2 Arena and will see huge names in the world of pop fight it out in some hotly anticipated categories. Ed Sheeran is up for four prizes and Rihanna, Coldplay and Jessie J will all be in attendence. Many acts will be attending the ceremony for the first time including the likes of One Direction who are up for Best British Single.
The evening is rumoured to be kick off with Coldplay taking to the stage in what is sure to be another impressive display from on of the UK's top live acts. Olly Murs will be joined by the Rizzle Kicks for 'Heart Skips A Beat' and the night will also see the live UK return of Adele following her throat surgery last November.
Other perfomers include 'Marry You' star Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and former Oasis man Noel Gallagher. Britpop stars Blur will close proceedings having won the Outstanding Contribution To Music award in what is expected to be the longest ever set at the BRITs.
The big prize of the night, British Album Of The Year' will likely see Adele and Ed Sheeran go head to head following the triumphant success of their albums '21' and '+' over the past year. Coldplay, Florence & The Machine and PJ Harvey will not go quietly though and could easily upset the odds.
Ed is the most nominated artist of the evening with four nods and will do battle with the likes of Jessie J and Emeli Sande in the tricky British Breakthrough act category. Another strong category is the British Male Solo Artist with Noel Gallagher, Professor Green and Ed all worthy winners of the prize. Adele will be hoping to make another clean sweep after taking home all six awards at the Grammy Awards earlier this month.
She will have to beat last year's winner Laura Marling as well as Jessie J and legendary Kate Bush in a very diverse category though. International nominations could see Rihanna take home her second BRIT after picking up last year's Solo Artist and it would be no surprise to see the Foo Fighters taking home top prize in the Group category after their triumph at the Grammys. Best British Single will also see some of pop's biggest names do battle with JLS, One Direction and Example all ready to do battle.
Whatever happens, it is set to be a fantastic night in the world of music and no doubt feature moments that will keep the whole world talking for years to come.
